Question by : How can you tell if your are suffering from sinuses or allergies?
I’ve had a stopped up nose now for more than a week. That’s the only symptom I’ve had. I’ve tried DayQuil sinus, OTC cold meds, and even some prescription strength Mucinex but nothing is helping! Could it be allergies instead of my sinuses? If so, what is a good allergy medicine that can help w/ congestion? And how can I tell if it’s allergies instead of sinus problems? Thanks

Answer by isagenixlean My husband gets the same way.. He uses Claritin and it helps him.. OUr children use Benedryl.. that helps as well. You will know if it is allergies cause they will ease with the tablets.. Good Luck with this.. You could go and get an allergy test done if you wanted as well. and you can find out what it might be.. I know alot of people are allergic to pollen and many other things that come out in spring and summer months..

Significant nasal septum deviation (DNS) predisposes to nasal problems like epistaxis, crusting, and sinusitis. This video shows a deviated nasal septum to the left with septal spur, and presence of sinusitis as evidenced by abnormal middle meatus appearance and draining mucopus. Loss of laminar air flow patterns may result in sinus hypoventilation and interferes with normal mucociliary function. CT-scan shows sinusitis changes involving the left maxillary sinus, anterior ethmoid air cells, and left frontal sinus with sphenoid sinus being spared.
When you have sinus troubles and you are conjested try boiling some water and removing it from the heat. Putting a few drops or peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil in the water and breathing it in for 10-15 minutes. Or If you are really conjested and you’re feeling brave, take some sea salt and warm water and when the salt is desolved in it, sniff some up into your nose and quickly blow it out and all that mucus will come out. I won’t lie to you it is a little uncomfortable, but it works very well, and you will be free from your sinus troubles! Video Rating: 5 / 5
